A CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE IN ARTS AND SPORTS
Illume 2023 was the first festival to bring together our entire Canadian Jamat in celebration of talent across both arts and sports. Festivals have always been a space for gathering, connection, celebration, and inspiration—and Illume 2023 delivered all of that and more! From the qualifying events to the national festival, those months were filled with celebration, preparation, and excitement.
Bollywood Signature competed against incredibly talented dancers from across the country, and we are so humbled to have won this national competition and securing our place as Team Canada for the Global Encounters Festival in Dubai.
We were thrilled to share this journey with you!
HOSTED BY MCMASTER UNIVERSITY
Our team dedicated countless hours to rehearsals in preparation for our journey to Hamilton, Ontario, where McMaster University hosted the competition. When we weren’t perfecting our routines or connecting with talented individuals from around the country, we were cheering on our friends and family competing in various sports, including hockey, basketball, badminton, track, chess, and more. The experience was a mix of hard work, camaraderie, and support, as we came together to showcase our passion and commitment on a national stage.

CARE FOR OUR CULTURE
The theme for the competition was 'Care.' Our team showcased a piece that represented 'Care for Our Culture.' where we depicted a story of the importance of teaching younger generations different styles of dance including; Kathak and Garba. In turn, the piece ended with a South Asian/Western fusion medley which demonstrated the importance of integration and caring for both our cultures.

This fun, high-energy workout is perfect for all fitness levels, whether you're a boxing enthusiast or just looking to try something new. Whether you're a fitness enthusiast or just looking to support a great cause, this class promises fun, sweat, and community spirit!
