Illume 2023
National Competition
Our Professional Core Dance Team was honoured to represent Bollywood Signature at the 2023 Illume National Festival.
The theme for this competition was 'Care.' Our team showcased a piece that represented 'Care for our Culture' where we depicted a story of the importance of teaching younger generations different styles of dance including; Kathak and Garba. In turn, the piece ended with a South Asian/Western fusion medley which demonstrated the importance of integrating and caring for both our cultures.
In this competition, our team qualified for the International Global Encounters Showcase and will be representing Bollywood Signature as Team Canada in Dubai in the summer of 2024.
We are honoured to have shared the stage with so many inspiring dancers from around Canada and are looking forward to this upcoming opportunity.

With this piece, BollySign qualified for a national competition, held in Hamilton, Ontario, in which they brought this story to life at a national level.

Bollywood Musical Mystery took a deep dive into some of Bollywood's greatest composers.
Often times, the catchy music we hear gets overshadowed by the actors and singers in the industry. We wanted to bring forth and pay homage to the wonderful artists spending time to make these brilliant musical scores in the background!

A Virtual Journey Through India
We were then given the opportunity to recreate our successful show for the Alberta Grade 3 Social Studies curriculum. Without hesitation, we revamped our story and spent the summer of 2022, recreating this passion project to share with Alberta students across the province.
Journey Through India
Journey Through India was our passion project which allowed us to bring a little part of India to Calgary through dance. This evening-length performance tapped into seven different states of India and showcased eight of their authentic dance forms.
